Relax a Little

One of the hardest things for me to do is relax. My mind is constantly turning, creating, and thinking of new ideas. Honestly, if I seriously wrote down every idea produced in just a month, I would have a new business, organization, and program launched every month and plenty more left to share. Even when I'm at the beach or anywhere in nature for that matter: sitting by the pool, doing yoga, even speaking, my mind is still turning. I use to think that this was absolutely not normal at all. Literally would scream-whisper “just shut up and let me sleep”. However, after reading about what I thought could be a serious problem. I found that researches concluded that majority of people have between 50,000 to 70,000 thoughts a day.

This meant I was actually normal. Ouch! I've never aimed for normalcy. But at least I'm okay; Right? From further research, I found that I simply needed to practice ways to quiet my mind. Well, I knew that reading my bible, writing, and acting did this for me but those are things that I find myself slacking on very often. Now how does that sound? I know the remedy to heal my issue but I just don't do it? Crazy right?

So, after making the hundredth-thousand commitment to myself, I finally decided to stick with it. By sticking with it, I'm happier and more relaxed. Don't get me wrong, I still think, create, and produce ideas that I'm proud of but I also can relax now. I'm not uptight and agitated AS MUCH. I can just go with the flow of life instead of trying to control everything. I've even incorporated meditation in the mix of things to help me with this problem.

Finding ways to relax will have a significant impact on your daily life and those around you. It's imperative that you find a way to decompress from life and in life. Yes, after a long day we need to relieve stress but we also need little remedies that help us during the stress. So, don't be afraid to try new activities, incorporate relaxing scents in your workplace, or simply practice slowing your breathing.

Never allow life to get you so uptight that you forget to enjoy the little moments. You and the people who love you are worth you being able to relax and enjoy yourself and this one life that you have to live.

Preparation. Fight. Elevation...
