Proud to Be Authentically Me
Hey You!
It’s been well over a year since I’ve blogged. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if I would ever blog again. It’s not that I hate blogging, I actually like it because it’s just like my journal. But how honest can we truly be when the entire world can see what we’re thinking? As much as I want to say completely, totally, 100% honest, I can’t. There are definitely moments and truths that I will not be sharing with the public. I’m okay with that and I hope you are too.
When we try to expose our true selves to the world, not everyone can handle our complete truth. If we’re being honest, sometimes, we can’t handle our own truth. Then, there is that thing called privacy. Just save something’s for yourself, your family, and/or your partner. Get it? Got it? Good? Okay, moving along now.
The real reason why I’m here is to ask you some probing questions. I want us all to leave this blog today on a mission to finally be honest with ourselves. I don’t want you to worry about what anyone else has to say, I just want you to answer these next few questions authentically.
When you woke up this morning, were you happy?
When was the last time you smiled and meant it?
Have you did anything lately that makes you proud to be [insert your name here].
What makes you unique?
Are you proud of your thoughts?
When no one else is looking, do you do the right thing?
When was the last time you failed at something?
Do you blame yourself for your lack?
Are you open to learning something new and correcting your trajectory?
Do you love yourself? How?
If you’ve made it through, congratulations! I pray that you found strength in your answers. For those of you who don’t like all of your answers, it’s time to get busy. Self-awareness is good but it’s what we do with the stuff that we are aware of that takes us to the next level. Hold your head high and commit to doing the hard work to make you proud to be [insert your name].
